What is Medfest?

Medfest is an international film festival which is held at universities and teaching institutions all over the world. Every Spring a selection of short films are shown and discussed by a panel of distinguished experts, before the floor is opened to the audience. Currently in its eighth year the 2018 festival will aim to explore the topic of Silence.

Through three bespoke short films we will challenge your ideas and perceptions on the concept of silence.

How much does it cost to attend?

Absolutely nothing- Medfest is funded by the Royal College of Psychiatrists, with some events receiving alternative funding from both national and local sources.

Medfest does not receive funding from pharmaceutical companies.

Who can come?

Anyone- the majority of our audiences tend to be medical students, though our events are relevant to all health professionals and film fans.

Members of the public are most welcome.

Where are the events held?

In 2017 events were held throughout the UK and Ireland as well as Australia, Europe and North America.

Please check the tabs periodically to see if there are any events in your area as we continue to expand the number of countries who participate each year.

Get in contact if you think your area needs a Medfest!
